From the Rez to the City

I love love love these paper bag cinch waist pants from ASOS Curve. The different colored panel inserts at the bottom are awesome! I paired them with a cropped vest and brown NYT heels then I added my leopard print dress coat that I previously wore as a dress. In the future I will be wearing this puppy with some color (possibly a bright romper/jumpsuit)! My daughter and I had lunch at KFC. I haven't been there in years! Follow my blog with Bloglovin My daughter and I had the best time taking these photos!! I decided to tap into my "wild" side and get a bit animated for these photos. I thought it was appropriate for this crazy outfit! My daughter was cracking up! I saw these pants 1st on my girl Christina of Musings of a Fatshionista's (you can see her blog in my sidebar faves) Facebook page and when she said they were only $20 I had to get them. They are from Forever 21. I ordered them online and they arrived within 2 days!! Super fast shipping!! I love them oh so much and thought that since they had a sort of edgy/rocker chic flair I had to rock my faux leather studded jacket. I also threw on some leather finger-less gloves and my now go to Jeffrey Campbell wedges. The belt is from Lane Bryant. I love it!  I got this dress at one of my favorite thrift stores and I loved the top part of it however the bottom I did NOT so I cut the bottom off and decided to just use it as a top. I "snazzed" it up with my Ralph Lauren wide leg sailor pants, Target shoes, F21 necklace and Kenneth Cole sunnies. These pictures were taken at the Hispanic Cultural Center. I have had my eye on this beautiful ASOS Curve pleated maxi dress since its 1st appearance on their website. When I went back to the website a couple of weeks later and it was still there I decided to go ahead and buy it. I LOVE IT!! It is a glamorous version of a maxi dress. The color is called minx (a sort of grayish light purple) and it is super long which I need because I am 5' 8" so if I put on some 4" heels I'm 6' tall!!! The dress fits me perfectly throughout the waist and hips however the chest area is too large. I will have to have it tailored but until then I just applied a broach. I was not comfortable with how low it was along with the fact that it is sleeveless so I threw on my Ralph Lauren cardi. I am wearing my platform Jeffrey Campbell wedges and some vintage pearls. Hey Y'all, As most of you know my husband and I are from Arizona. We moved to Dallas 2 years ago so that my husband could obtain his Master's of Theology degree. My husband's degree plan is 4 years and we have been here 2. Let me tell you..it has not been an easy adjustment to say the least. For starters we moved from a 2000 sq ft home to an 800 sq ft apartment. The school has a living quarters for single individual's and another for married couples. We decided that since we were new to the area it would be a good idea to move into the married couples bldg. Incidentally, we live on a street that on one end has multi-million dollar historic homes and then on the other end (our end) it is pretty much the ghetto!! lol  It is so hilarious when people ask where we live and when we say say the street they are like....WOW!!! Those of you that have been following my blog for a while know how much I love vintage dresses. I went to a new spot here in the Dallas Deep Ellum called Lula B's a couple of months ago and I found this beautiful vintage dress. I decided to wear it today with a sun hat that I've had for years, my favorite Lane Bryant belt and my Ralph Lauren pumps. I love this dress because the diagonal stripes are very slimming.

TODAY I TOOK MY DAUGHTER TO THE MOVIES TO SEE MONTE CARLO (WAIT FOR DVD). LOL THIS IS WHAT I WORE. IT IS REALLY HEATING UP HERE IN DALLAS! ASOS STRIPED MIDI SKIRT JEFFREY CAMPBELL WEDGES THRIFTED BLOUSE LANE BRYANT BELT MY NEIGHBOR GAVE ME THIS FABULOUS ANTIQUE JEWELRY ARMOIRE. IT WAS JUST WHAT I NEEDED. THE DRAWERS STORE ALL OF MY RINGS AND EARRINGS AND THE SIDES OPEN UP TO STORE MY NECKLACES ON HOOKS. THE TOP EVEN OPENS UP AND HAS RING HOLDERS AND MORE STORAGE BUT I AM CURRENTLY  USING THE TOP TO PUT THINGS LIKE PERFUME (MY FAVES ARE CALVIN KLEIN ETERNITY, COCO CHANEL MADEMOISELLE, CHLOE AND J'ADORE BY DIOR) AND DECORATIVE ITEMS ON IT. I PLAN TO USE THE LARGER DRAWERS ON THE BOTTOM FOR ALL OF MY SILK SCARVES. THIS THING IS MASSIVE IT STANDS ABOUT 3.5FT HIGH AND IS ABOUT 25INCHES WIDE. I LOVE IT!!
