FASHION X DALLAS: PROJECT RUNWAY

Hey Dolls,
A couple of weeks ago my daughter and I were invited to attended Fashion X Dallas. For 3 nights the public was allowed to view collections from some of the most talented independent and emerging designers.

The show we attended featured 8 runway shows at Designer All Stars Presented by Bernina from some of the most popular and talented designers featured on the hit television series Project Runway All Stars (including 3 season winners!).

Each night also featured amazing jewelry & accessories designers in the Fashion X Dallas Galleries.
This was my daughter's very first fashion show and she was excited beyond words! She fit in seamlessly and we had a great mommy-daughter night. Her jumpsuit is Calvin Klein, blazer is F21, necklace is borrowed from my vintage collection. My hat, faux fur stole, and top are from Asos, pants are Lane Bryant.
We arrived an hour before the show to view jewelry and accessories in the galleries. Our favorite accessories were these beautiful oversized clutches by Allison Mitchell. We also got to meet her and she was super sweet.
Prior to the show we mingled and admired all of the unique individual style of the attendees.

Yes Diva!
I mean hello GLAMOUR!! Red carpet ready!
I don't know this little cutie but she slayed. She reminded me of Audrey Hepburn.
updated 11/29/14: This fashionista's name is Ekaterina Kouznetsova. You can find her on Instagram at @ekatphoto.
These ladies ended up sitting next to us and they were so much fun. They were photo bombing and all. Hilarious! Peep my Little Monkey and I in the background. hee hee
Now on to the designers!
Anthony Ryan Auld
With his label Anthony Ryan, Anthony Ryan Auld creates fashion to inspire the modern woman with clean lines, definitive shapes, and bold fabric selections. His innovative use of color and simple forms continues to bring forward-thinking women striking pieces that are current yet amaranthine.
Jeffrey launched an entirely new brand of edgy kids clothes with friend and entrepreneur Melissa Bochco. Jeffrey says the idea came about during a discussion between he and Melissa about the tribulations of finding cool, chic clothes for their sons. Hence, La Miniatura – a collection drawn from the late 70’s to early 80’s post-punk re-interpreted through the lens of current trends and classic details for kids. When questioned about the line’s lush red and black velvet suits, plaid blazers and sophisticated trench coats and sweaters compared to the easy-in easy-out sweat pants moms are begrudgingly forced to stick their boys in today, Jeffrey’s only reply — “I just want my kid to be able to dress with some dignity!”
These kids slayed the runway!

 You betta WERK Sweetie!

Daniel was one of the four finalists of Project Runway season 11 and even created a 12-look Fall collection in the first part of the finale. After showing at New York’s Fashion week in 2013, he was invited back to be a participant on Project Runway’s All Stars. This exposure has catapulted Daniel’s career as an independent designer and has given him the opportunity to give back to his community. Daniel creates custom garments from his studio in Austin, Texas.

Inspired by her African roots, Liberian-born fashion designer and stylist Korto Momolu (pronounced Cut • Toe – Mo • Mo • Lu) is stamping her global brand on fashion forward women’s wear and accessories that celebrate the essence of her rich heritage through the use of traditional and luxury fabrics, skins, and mixed prints.

Laura Kathleen has turned the dream of being a fashion designer into a reality. Remaining based in Saint Louis, Laura Kathleen represents someone who obtains luxury. We say obtain because she doesn’t just desire things, she goes and gets them. The LK woman likes to be glamorous, elegant, and sophisticated but understands how to be sexy at the same time.

Having always been fascinated with German art movements such as Bauhaus, and Dada – Fleis combines her bold, architectural silhouettes with a modern, artisanal edge. Melissa has been focusing her recent efforts on creating a collection of handmade garments and accessories – as well as building her brand through various fashion shows, gallery events, collaborations, and educational workshops. She spends the rest of her time creating custom made to measure garments for select clients. Melissa designs her clothing for the contemporary woman, as well as herself.

Michelle Lesniak, Project Runway’s Season 11 winner is known for her strong aesthetic and quick wit. Michelle wowed both judges and viewers with her tenacity. Nearly voted off, Michelle fought back to reveal one of the most cohesive and distinctive collections seen on Project Runway to date.

The vision of his line is to create forward but wearable, sexy and sophisticated sportswear for the ‘woman who’s every woman.’ It does not exclude in size, shape, income, or lifestyle. Every piece feels special, in an accessible, approachable way. The line celebrates a woman’s body and encourages them to celebrate it; empowering them to embrace their femininity.

What a great show!!! I want to thank Fashion X Dallas for inviting me and Shana Anderson Photography for sharing all of these beautiful photos.

Which designer is your favorite?
