I'm so excited to share this post with you! Out of frustration, I decided to do a "trendy print" DIY. I don't know about you, but I can't ever find trendy printed items in plus size. Lately, I've been obsessed with all things "Pop Art" so I tapped into my inner Andy Warhol and came up with this lip print skirt. By the way, how fitting is it that this is the "LOVE" month (Valentine's Day)!
I found this amazing lip stamp on eBay and used a sponge brush to apply red acrylic paint to it, then stamped an old cream satin-like skirt (that I scored from eBay a while back). As you can see it turned out pretty RAD (if I do say so myself), but I do notice (from the pics) that I need to fill in some spots (mainly in the back). I chose to spare the upper section of the skirt and concentrate on the hip down portion of the skirt. Who knows, I may end up filling in the entire skirt.
Once I finish with stamping, I will turn the skirt inside out and "heat-set" the paint with an iron. This will set in the color allowing me to wash/dry-clean without ruining the paint.
