FLORAL PEPLUM

In a previous post I listed 6 trends for spring, one of them being the peplum. Everyone is not a fan of the peplum because they concentrate on the hip enhancement which is deemed a big "no no" for the plus size woman. I however choose to focus on the wonderful waist cinching the peplum accomplishes. If you ask me, the peplum is perfect for the plus size woman because it gives the appearance of an hour glass shape.

Peplum Jacket: Thrifted
Skirt and Belt: Lane Bryant
Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell
Handbag: B. Makowsky

What is your take on the peplum?
With LOVE,
Kiah

My take on it is this... Nobody's gonna tell me not to accentuate my wonderful hips!! I do what I want. lol! Ok, I'm done being sassy now. =D

I haven't chosen to jump on this trend because I can't get past the Jackee'/227 look that it gives me when I try it on. Don't get me wrong... My gurl Jackee' rocked the heck out of her peplum outfits!! But when I see myself in them, I just don't feel comfortable, and it always looks to me like I'm trying to be like her.

Maybe I need to go for more subtle peplum styles like this top that you're rocking. It's very cute!

How funny I just did a post on peplum dresses a few days ago. The dress I tried on was super cute. I say if it looks good on you who cares what others say.

You are rocking that outfit! Gorgeous!

I remember when the peplum came into style in the late 80's and early 90's. I worked at a fashion merchandising company and all day it was peplum, peplum, peplum. I worked in the word processing department and I got exhausted typing "peplum" over and over again.

Not to say that it isn't a wonderful style if you can carry it off, which you do!

I totally agree with you on peplums. I also like tops with elastic in the waist that create a peplum like shape.
Loving this outfit on you!
