ATTEN...TION!!

Last Saturday my daughter and I went to see the Dallas Black Dance Theatre company perform. My daughter's teacher, who is in the company, was kind enough to give us 2 tickets. What a BLESSING!! They did an amazing job and my daughter was so inspired and motivated to get more focused on her dance. It was very spur of the moment so I had to wear what I already had on. Ironically, it was a tutu!! lol Because this outfit has sort of a ballet meets military theme I thought it would be fun to pose in some military positions.

Position 1: "ATTEN...TION!!!" (with a handbag of course) lol

Jacket: I.N.C. (Macy's)
Dress worn as skirt: Isaac Mizrahi (QVC)
Boots: Sofft
Handbag: Michael Kors
Sunnies: F21
Belt: Lane Bryant

Position 2: "SALUTE"
Thank you for all of your encouraging comments on my previous post. It can be somewhat uncomfortable letting complete stangers "IN" but I am so glad that I did. I felt it was important to let you all know that I love fashion but it does not define me. Please don't let it define you. We are more than our outfits!
With Love,
Kiah

This almost has a punk rock feel to it. Really cool. Meanwhile, I love dance and love to watch dance performances so I'm sure you and your daughter had a grand ol' time.
Love the jacket and now you've got me wanting a tutu. TFS

The contrast of feminine lace and military is purely awesome! You look very nice.

Isn't it wonderful to see a child inspired. They have the look in their eyes like they can accomplish anything. I know your daughter will do her thing!

Absolutely stunning and if you ever decide that the jacket has to go, please send it to me. I love military style.
How nice that you and your daughter got to go to the dance performance. When I was younger, I wished I could be a dancer. Unfortunately, I never got to take classes until I was an adult.

While your outfits don't define you, they definitely give a good impression of how creative and generally fierce you are!! I love the tough jacket with the pretty skirt. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the performance!

I am loving the military/tutu look! You look so fierce and I love that your personality shines through your clothes. The clothes don't make you, you make the clothes. That alone inspires me. Keep being who you are!

Wow, Kiah, applause!! That jacket with the belt booties and the way the dots on the lace mirrors the metal buttons of the jacket is genius. I think this is one of your trendiest, most timeless looks. Bravo. Encore!!
