YIN-YANG
When it comes to clothing I love to mix opposites. I love a great contrast. For instance, I like to take a beautiful whimsical flowing feminine dress and pair it with something masculine like a leather moto jacket. The two are very opposite but they somehow work together to present an unexpected fashion master piece. How about getting that contrast in one item! A few months ago I was browsing the Jessica London website when I came across this two-toned suit (it came with black pants). It reminded me of the Yin Yang symbol which is used to describe how polar opposites or seemingly contrary forces are interconnected and interdependent in the natural world, and how they give rise to each other in turn. Opposites thus only exist in relation to each other. The Yin Yang concept refers to natural dualities (i.e. light and dark, male and female, high and low, hot and cold) but I believe this concept can apply to fashion too! :-) (Yin Yang definition courtesy of Wikipedia)
