DFW BLOGGER NETWORK MEET UP AT THE BODY SHOP

Last Saturday the DFW Blogger Network met up at The Body Shop inside Northpark Mall here in Dallas, Tx. Many of us (including myself) had never been to The Body Shop. Well let me tell you...I have been missing out!! The staff was so friendly and they shared many stories with us about the history of the store and its all natural products. Here is what The Body Shop believes: "We've believed this for years and still do. We constantly seek out wonderful natural ingredients from all four corners of the globe, and we bring you products bursting with effectiveness to enhance your natural beauty. While we're doing this we always strive to protect this beautiful planet and the people who depend on it. We don't do it this way because it's fashionable. We do it because, to us, it's the only way."
The store catered in Chick-Fil-A (my favorite) for us. We ate yummy chicken breakfast biscuits, strawberry yogurt, coffee and juice. The Chick-Fil-A rep was such a sweetie. She even brought a wheel for us to spin for free Chick-Fil-A goodies. I won a free sandwich!!
The body shop has many campaigns. Stop Violence in the Home, Stop HIV and Stop Sex Trafficking. The store had a table setup to sign a petition in support of the Stop Sex Trafficking campaign. In signing the petition the store offered a free T-shirt supporting the campaign and a store coupon.

Here are some Traffic stopping facts:
- Human trafficking is the third largest and fastest growing criminal industry in the world.
- 1.8 million children are exploited in the global commercial sex trade though this figure is thought to be much higher due to the underground dealings of the traffickers.
- Reports show that sexual exploitation is the most likely purpose of trafficking
- Trafficking exists in countries all over the world. It doesn't only exist in the poorest countries.
Then the store setup 3 areas to promote their feet, body and makeup products. My daughter was able to go with me and she had a blast hanging with the big girls!! This is her using their wonderful foot products!
Samples of the body products were used on our hands and arms. Wonderful smells were EVERYWHERE!! The scrubs make your skin so soft and youthful!
There was both a bronzer expert and a makeup artist on hand for us to sample the makeup. There's my little girl all up in the mix!! haha
Check out all of these great things...scrubs, lotions, body wash....OH MY!!
Juanette of Fashion Nette-Work getting all bronzed up!! Her dress was so CUTE!!
We were all given a gift bag from the store that included many samples and coupons for both the store and Chick-Fil-A. I'm telling you The Body Shop is a class act! In the end they put all of our names in a hat and my daughter pulled out Lala G of Pop Culture Fashionista!! She won this awesome gift! Lucky Duck! haha
Me with a basket full of goodies. What I wore:
maxi skirt - F21, vintage Jimi Hendricks tee, random vest, Target flats and a flower pin from Lane Bryant.

I want to give a special THANKS to The Body Shop for all of their generosity, Chick-Fil-A for the yummy treats and last but not least to Elissa of Dress With Courage for arranging the entire thing. You ROCK girl!!

I apologize to any blogger that is pictured but not referenced. I left early and was unable to get the names and url's of each blogger. Please count it to my mind and not my heart! ;-) Kiah

I want to do a blogger meet-up so, so, so badly. I think it would be the most fun thing ever. Nobody ever comes to this area, though. Stupid Midwest.

Kiah, this looks like a lot of fun!!! I totally wish I lived in a bigger city where I can go to events like this! I love The Body Shop. I really like their body butters, but ever since they stopped making grapeseed scent, I haven't gotten a large container of the butters. They also make some amazing cosmetics!

ok I saw ur daughter's hair .. its so beautiful!! Im thinking you can do it. but... it will take you a good
3-4 hours with washing to styling .. but its not bad .. and she is old enough so she can learn to do it on her own eventually :0)
