CURVES GONE GRAPHIC

Hey Dolls,
This is a pretty exciting post because it's the 1st time I've ever participated in something like this. All props go to Bella Styles because it was her idea. I'll let her tell you how she came up with it.

Written by Bella Styles:
Earlier this month I posted on the new trend of “Contrasting, Monochrome Mod Black & White Prints”. In that post I featured an ASOS CURVE Body-Conscious Dress In Geo Mono Print, ($52.62). Something about this dress just struck me from first glance. Then within no time I started seeing other curvy bloggers swooning over this dress as well. Blogger Alissa of StylishCurves even found a pic with athlete Serena Williams in a similar geometric dress. But when I went over to facebook and read the comments under another blogger who posted a pic of the dress on her page, I was a little disgusted. For some reason people think that a curvy or plus-size woman can’t wear stripes, graphic prints, etc. So with that said, I contacted fellow fashionistas Marie Denee of The Curvy Fashionista, Cassandra of Curvaceous Boutique and Nekiah of From the Rez to the City all whom had posted that they also purchased this dress from Asos. We decided to do a "Show & Style" so to speak to inform our loyal followers that for one, YES, a plus-size woman can wear prints and be trendy, and also the various different ways to wear this geo-print dress. In no way is this a competition between us bloggers, we are just offering style advice to our readers. (The pics from each of us will be on our own blogs and facebook pages and then I will update this post with a collage of all of us at a later date)...**Ends Bella Styles**

I WALK THE LINE

Hi Dolls!
My infatuation with stripes is no secret. I love them because they are timeless/classic but can also be mixed with various prints to make an outfit super fun. The Spring 2013 runways exploded stripes so lines are on fire right now. I want you to prepare yourselves to see them on EVERY blog! lol Today, I walk the line...

ALL I NEED IS A HOG

Hey Dolls,
When I saw this peplum belt on the Asos Curve website...I had to have it! I knew right away that most would pair this with a body con dress or pencil skirt but I being me decided to pair it with pants. I don't know why but there's something about leather that always makes me think of lace and denim so I used a chambray top. Once dressed I looked in the mirror and the faux leather pants with the faux leather peplum belt totally reminded me of the leather chaps that bikers wear. Now all I need is a HOG (Harley Davidson motorcycle) and I'm in business!! ;-)

COPPER SWIRLS

Hey Dolls,
Today my husband preached a sermon titled "MY FATHER'S HOUSE". The sermon began with my husband talking about the time he reached adulthood and left home. He explained how he felt sad and afraid because he had been totally dependent on his father to provide for him. He then went on to talk about how the disciples must have felt after leaving all of their occupations, familiar surroundings and security to follow Jesus. How after their commitment to Him, He tells them at the Last Supper that He had to leave them.

Was He abandoning them? Was He going to forget about them? Would they be separated forever? NO! Jesus assured them that He was going to prepare a place for them so that where He was they would be also. Jesus will return to receive His children and although He has left us physically, He has not abandoned us or forgot about us. Upon His departure He left us the "Comforter" (Holy Spirit). He left us His word to encourage us and guide us and we know He's thinking of us because the sole purpose of His departure was to go and prepare a place for us! What a word of encouragement!

This is what I wore to church...
Although it was cold today, the sun was beaming like crazy. I could not look directly into the camera because the sun was right behind it!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Hey Divas!!
I've been in Arizona on holiday vacay for 2 weeks and I can't tell you how much I've missed blogging. So excited to post my 1st 2013 outfit. It's getting pretty cold here in Dallas so I'm exploring different areas within my building to snap pics in order to stay out of the cold. lol

I picked up this fabulous sequined maxi skirt while in Arizona. It's such a versatile piece that can be worn all year round. I would totally rock it in the summer with a wife beater or plain tee paired with a snap back. Loves it!

 Feathered Capelet: F21
Collar: H&M
Peplum Top: Asos
Sequined Maxi Skirt: Calvin Klein
Shoes: Nina
Earrings: Vintage
Bracelet: Thrifted

I pray you all have a blessed 2013!! This year I vow to save money, spend more time in the Word of God, get healthier, nag less and love more! ;-)
With LOVE,
Kiah
