From the Rez to the City

Hey Y'all, Today I was able to shop, mingle, eat and crack up with some beautiful ladies from the DFW Blogger Network. We started off at Ann Taylor Loft where we were generously given a 40% discount off of everything in the store!! Thank you so much Loft!! Next, we walked over to Lemon Bar (in the Dallas Uptown area) and enjoyed a delicious brunch along with some great conversation and tons of laughs (seriously my tummy was aching from laughing). I got the chicken and waffles and it was super YUM. I highly recommend this place. The service was excellent and the food was the bomb! We also had bottomless mimosas! Woot Woot! lol There was a small farmer's market set up right outside the restaurant so we took a stroll down the center lane to see what the local vendors had to offer. They had the best looking fruits and veggies! I had a great time and want to tell all the ladies that I met today... it was a pleasure meeting you and I am now following all of your blogs! While thrifting a while back I came across this gorgeous Asian inspired robe and fell in love with it! I just love anything "ethnic"! I can think of sooooooo many different ways to wear this but today I decided to wear it in a layered style with my oxfords while shopping for my daughter an Easter dress. I received numerous compliments so I am very happy with my $2.50 purchase. I think it would look great with skinny jeans, a colored dress (hot pink) or with denim shorts. I HAD NEVER HEARD OF TOMS UNTIL I HEARD MY NEIGHBOR TALKING ABOUT GIFTING HER DAUGHTER A PAIR FOR HER BIRTHDAY. I JUST DIDN'T REALLY THINK THEY WERE QUITE MY STYLE. 3 WEEKS AGO I WENT THRIFTING AND FOUND A PAIR OF THE MOST COMFY AND CUTIEST PAIR OF WEDGES. WHEN I GOT HOME AND WHIPPED THEM OUT TO SHOW MY NEIGHBOR I FOUND OUT THAT THEY WERE ONE OF THE NEW STYLES OF TOMS. I GOT THEM FOR $8 AND THEY WERE BRAND NEW!!! "WINNING"!! LOL DID YOU KNOW THAT WITH EVERY PAIR YOU PURCHASE, TOMS WILL GIVE A PAIR OF NEW SHOES TO A CHILD IN NEED. THIS IS A WONDERFUL REASON TO BUY A PAIR OF TOMS. I AM GOING TO GO AND BUY A PAIR FULL PRICE JUST FOR THIS PURPOSE. THESE WEDGES ARE SUPER COMFY AND I RECEIVED SO MANY COMPLIMENTS WHEN I WORE THEM TO WORK THE OTHER DAY. Hey Y'all - I figured out that my camera has a video function so my daughter and I decided to test it out. This is totally on the fly but I decided to post it anyway to give you all a voice and a little bit of personality to attach to my face that you see so often. Today my daughter's Ballet Folklorico team danced at six flags. It was Festival Latino day. Below are some pics from the event. There were low riders, beautiful clothing, yummy food and rides. My daughter is the one in the white dress.  This is what I wore today.

Hey Y'all - I am so excited about this vintage 70's boho sheer sleeve flower and butterfly dress! I found it on eBay from a store called 1919 Vintage Boutique. This was the only item that they had in my size but I saw some really cute things so go check them out!
